Hi, all! I am now rounding out my fourth week of Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion . It’s been a great month and I’ve enjoyed many tasty meals, and I’ve felt great. I’ve even lost about five more pounds. Prior to beginning Always Eat After Seven P.M., I was counting macronutrients. I still continued to do this, but I changed up what I was eating a bit and most importantly, WHEN I was eating. I’ve always been one to eat a large breakfast and a sparse dinner, since I’ve always believed you weren’t supposed to eat a large meal late in the evening. I was skeptical at first, but I found eating a larger, carbohydrate based meal at 7P.M. or a little later helped me to sleep better and have more energy the next day. I also didn’t wake up starving.

I plan to continue counting macronutrients and following the guidelines in Always Eat After 7 P.M. The recipes in the book are easy to make and are delicious, and the amount of energy I have now is wonderful.

The book was easy to read and it challenged a lot of what I’ve believed about nutrition over the years. Joel Marion, the author, uses several scientific studies to support his claims. For instance, “A research paper published in Sports Medicine in 2014 showed that people who eat the majority of their carbs at dinner actually sleep better. Carb-induced, quality sleep decreases cortisol (a fat-storing hormone) and ramps up the production of your sleep hormones, serotonin and melatonin. Restorative sleep increases fat-burning hormones—the main one being growth hormone—overnight.”

Joel Marion’s Always Eat After 7PM program makes dieting easy and eliminates 90% of reasons for resistance.  The most challenging times to curb hunger are just before bed and in the morning. By following the Always Eat After 7PM program, you have the most willpower to stay on the diet because you are eating during the hours when you are most hungry. This also puts you into both intermittent fasting increasing testosterone and your metabolism, while putting you into ketosis.   The Always Eat After 7 PM plan consists of: The 14-day Acceleration Phase to kick-start the program and see rapid results, The Main Phase where you’ll learn exactly which foods to eat when in order to achieve your weight-loss goals, The Lifestyle Phase to keep the weight off for good.

If you want to have your knowledge of nutrition challenged and tested, you should check out Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion  You will find a diet plan that is not overly restrictive, that allows you to continue to eat some of your favorite foods and helps you to feel better and have more energy. It sounds too good to be true but it isn’t. Learn more about the book and how to purchase it here.

Why I’m Doing Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion….and why you should, too!

I have always been fitness and diet conscious, but now that the gym is closed for COVID-19, my good habits have suffered! I noticed I was gaining a little of my weight back and my energy level was suffering as well. I knew I wanted to change those things, so I jumped at the chance to receive an advance copy of “Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion. Over the next month, I’ll be sharing my experience of the book and diet (and hopefully some awesome benefits!)

Basically, the Always Eat After 7 PM plan consists of: The 14-day Acceleration Phase to kick-start the program and see rapid results, The Main Phase where you’ll learn exactly which foods to eat when in order to achieve your weight-loss goals, The Lifestyle Phase to keep the weight off for good.

That sounds so simple and so easy, right?

Many of us have grown up believing that if you want to manage your weight, eating after 7 P.M. if off the table. In the beginning of the book, Joel Marion addresses this thought. He then shares how his own experiences with weight gain and loss research from various studies helped him to form the theory that eating after 7 doesn’t have negative effects on your weight, but actually positive effects.   After his research, Joel put his theory to the test and the results were awesome! In his first two weeks, he lost 12 pounds, and after sixteen weeks, he had lost 46 pounds. He also noticed an increased energy level and flatter abs. Don’t these results sound like results we would want to achieve?

We’ve been traditionally taught to avoid carbs, have an early dinner, and never eat before bed. But the fact is, the latest scientific research shows us this earlier model is not the most ideal. In the book, Joel writes,  “Always Eat After 7 pm is a three-phase program that teaches you how to lose big by strategically eating big when you are naturally hungriest—in the evening. This may sound too good to be true, but let me assure you it is no gimmick. It’s all about making strategic and smart food swaps, and you can still eat your favorite foods.”

Out of everything Joel said, this is what resonates with me the most:

“At my next medical checkup, my doctor was shocked at how good my blood work had gotten, so quickly. And let’s not forget the most important part: for the first time in months, I had the energy to keep up with my little girls.”

Having the energy to keep up with my children is certainly at the top of my list! I’m so excited to accept the challenge and dive in! Stay tuned- I’ll post an update next week.

In the meantime, check out this video on Joel’s top tips for success.

Recipe: Easy Southwestern Chicken Salad

I am late in posting this week, as it has been an extraordinarily busy week! I appreciate your patience as we try to slow our pace a bit and get everything handled.

Have you ever been in a dinner rut? We have so many things going on during the week that we sometimes are unable to cook a big meal. For those moments, you need something quick and easy. Cheap is good, too.

You will need the following items:

*cherry tomatoes

*bell pepper

*a head of lettuce

*a can of corn

*a can of black beans

*crispy chicken tenders

*shredded cheese (mozzarella and cheddar)

First, wash and shred up your lettuce.

Next, shred your cheese. You can use bagged cheese but fresh tastes better.

Next, slice your bell pepper and tomatoes. Combine your peppers, tomatoes, lettuce and bacon bits in a bowl.

Then, add your chicken, corn and beans.

Now you have a salad that is just as pretty as it is delicious.

What are your “dinner rut” dinners?
