Always Eat After Seven P.M.: One Month Later

Hi, all! I am now rounding out my fourth week of Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion . It’s been a great month and I’ve enjoyed many tasty meals, and I’ve felt great. I’ve even lost about five more pounds. Prior to beginning Always Eat After Seven P.M., I was counting macronutrients. I still continued to do this, but I changed up what I was eating a bit and most importantly, WHEN I was eating. I’ve always been one to eat a large breakfast and a sparse dinner, since I’ve always believed you weren’t supposed to eat a large meal late in the evening. I was skeptical at first, but I found eating a larger, carbohydrate based meal at 7P.M. or a little later helped me to sleep better and have more energy the next day. I also didn’t wake up starving.

I plan to continue counting macronutrients and following the guidelines in Always Eat After 7 P.M. The recipes in the book are easy to make and are delicious, and the amount of energy I have now is wonderful.

The book was easy to read and it challenged a lot of what I’ve believed about nutrition over the years. Joel Marion, the author, uses several scientific studies to support his claims. For instance, “A research paper published in Sports Medicine in 2014 showed that people who eat the majority of their carbs at dinner actually sleep better. Carb-induced, quality sleep decreases cortisol (a fat-storing hormone) and ramps up the production of your sleep hormones, serotonin and melatonin. Restorative sleep increases fat-burning hormones—the main one being growth hormone—overnight.”

Joel Marion’s Always Eat After 7PM program makes dieting easy and eliminates 90% of reasons for resistance.  The most challenging times to curb hunger are just before bed and in the morning. By following the Always Eat After 7PM program, you have the most willpower to stay on the diet because you are eating during the hours when you are most hungry. This also puts you into both intermittent fasting increasing testosterone and your metabolism, while putting you into ketosis.   The Always Eat After 7 PM plan consists of: The 14-day Acceleration Phase to kick-start the program and see rapid results, The Main Phase where you’ll learn exactly which foods to eat when in order to achieve your weight-loss goals, The Lifestyle Phase to keep the weight off for good.

If you want to have your knowledge of nutrition challenged and tested, you should check out Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion  You will find a diet plan that is not overly restrictive, that allows you to continue to eat some of your favorite foods and helps you to feel better and have more energy. It sounds too good to be true but it isn’t. Learn more about the book and how to purchase it here.

Two Weeks of “Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion”

This post is brought to you by our sponsor, “Always Eat After 7 PM”. The opinions expressed below are my own.

Hi, all! Remember this post, where I talked about wanting to have more energy, and lose weight since the gyms are still closed? After trying fad diet after fad diet, believing many diet misconceptions, and always gaining my weight back, I decided to try Joel Marion’s Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion  to see if I could lose weight and gain energy.

I have been counting macronutrients and calories as well as weight training and running, which I have had a lot of success with. I decided I’d incorporate some of Joel Marion’s principles in conjunction with counting macronutrients and it has proven to be the best fit for me.

Prior to beginning Always Eat After Seven, I frequently ate light meals for dinner, and I ate them no later than 6:30 P.M. This often meant I would wake up starving, or I’d cave and snack on something unhealthy at night time. I decided to try eating a heavier, higher carb meal (but making sure to save my carbs so I did not exceed my daily carb allotment). Within two weeks I lost the remaining three pounds and hit my second short term goal.

In Always Eat After Seven P.M., Joel Marion addresses the misconception that eating heavier meals later in the evening is detrimental to weight loss.

“A research paper published in Sports Medicine in 2014 showed that people who eat the majority of their carbs at dinner actually sleep better,” he said. “Carb-induced, quality sleep decreases cortisol (a fat-storing hormone) and ramps up the production of your sleep hormones, serotonin and melatonin. Restorative sleep increases fat-burning hormones—the main one being growth hormone—overnight.”

There are so many things I love about the book- the easy-to-follow meal plans make meal planning and grocery shopping easy. The recipes are easy to make and are delicious, without a lot of special ingredients. Have you ever had trouble following a diet because you couldn’t find the recipe ingredients anywhere in the stores? You won’t have that problem with Always Eat After 7 P.M.

My children are picky and often won’t try new things, but this cheesy ground beef skillet was a crowd pleaser. It was easy to make and everyone in our family loved it. Most of the recipes in the book require minimal prep so they are perfect for busy families like ours. You can eat a quick and delicious meal that doesn’t come from a drive thru.

Check out this video of author Joel Marion talking about some of the recipes included in the book:

Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion: Why I chose this book

This post is brought to you by our sponsor, “Always Eat After 7 PM”. The opinions expressed below are my own.

Joel Marion, Author

Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion. Why I chose this book: a review

I’ve tried a lot of diets over the years, and most of them didn’t go so well. Like most people, I do enjoy eating desserts, even if they aren’t on my diet plan. Many times when I failed at a diet, it was because the diet itself was too restrictive and didn’t allow for occasional treats. I’d feel guilty about eating the food, and as a reaction to failing at my diet, I’d eat a little more. Before I knew it, I’d be completely and totally off my diet. Another reason I failed at my many diets is that I was constantly hungry, which led to a lot of snacking…and lot of that snacking was late at night.

Most of us know that if we truly want to lose weight and keep it off, diet and exercise are both key pieces of the puzzle. It’s also important that we understand treating ourselves in moderation is OK and doesn’t mean you’ve failed. And eating dinner after 7 doesn’t impact your weight loss as so many of us have believed for years!

I know what you’re thinking. There are thousands of different diets out there, and most of them are fads. How is this one any different? When Joel Marion, a six-time best selling author, was asked this question, he said, “You’re a six-time best selling author, what is different about this book compared to your others?Although many of the concepts are similar, the biggest difference is that you don’t have to deprive yourself of your favorite foods. You don’t have to deal with the burden of eating every few hours. And you don’t have to skip the carbs at dinnertime or avoid eating before bed.”

Doesn’t that sound a lot more realistic than the diets we are used to reading about?

When asked why he chose to write this book, Joel Marion said, ” After authoring 6 best selling books it was glaringly obvious there were 2 huge misconceptions about dieting that needed to be exposed. The first is that you can’t eat late at night or before bed, which science now shows is NOT true. And second, you can’t eat large portions that satisfy your natural instinct. This book solves both these problems by providing an evidence-based, enjoyable approach to dieting that can be used by any person to quickly achieve their weight loss goals.”

Yet another misconception Joel Marion addresses in Always Eat After 7 P.M. is the misconception that carbs are bad and will cause you to gain weight. In his book, he writes, “You’re probably thinking, ‘But I thought going low carb was the way to burn fat and lose weight.’ Not according to important scientific evidence. So that’s another misguided diet ‘rule’ that I encourage you to break on Always Eat After 7 P.M. You see, low-carb dieting interferes with leptin, a hormone that is produced in the body’s fat cells and monitors incoming energy as well as total body fat stores. When either incoming energy or body fat stores start to decline (as is often the case on low-carb or low-calorie fat loss diets, a series of reactions is set off in the body. As your leptin levels decline, you’ll experience a downward spiral of negative side effects.”

This is another reason I often failed at dieting. I did not take in enough carbs and experienced a major crash in energy. With Always Eat After 7 P.M., I am already noticing a change in my energy level and I haven’t gained any additional weight.

Why I’m Doing Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion….and why you should, too!

This post is brought to you by our sponsor, “Always Eat After 7 PM”. The opinions expressed below are my own.

I have always been fitness and diet conscious, but now that the gym is closed for COVID-19, my good habits have suffered! I noticed I was gaining a little of my weight back and my energy level was suffering as well. I knew I wanted to change those things, so I jumped at the chance to receive an advance copy of “Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion. Over the next month, I’ll be sharing my experience of the book and diet (and hopefully some awesome benefits!)

Basically, the Always Eat After 7 PM plan consists of: The 14-day Acceleration Phase to kick-start the program and see rapid results, The Main Phase where you’ll learn exactly which foods to eat when in order to achieve your weight-loss goals, The Lifestyle Phase to keep the weight off for good.

That sounds so simple and so easy, right?

Many of us have grown up believing that if you want to manage your weight, eating after 7 P.M. if off the table. In the beginning of the book, Joel Marion addresses this thought. He then shares how his own experiences with weight gain and loss research from various studies helped him to form the theory that eating after 7 doesn’t have negative effects on your weight, but actually positive effects.   After his research, Joel put his theory to the test and the results were awesome! In his first two weeks, he lost 12 pounds, and after sixteen weeks, he had lost 46 pounds. He also noticed an increased energy level and flatter abs. Don’t these results sound like results we would want to achieve?

We’ve been traditionally taught to avoid carbs, have an early dinner, and never eat before bed. But the fact is, the latest scientific research shows us this earlier model is not the most ideal. In the book, Joel writes,  “Always Eat After 7 pm is a three-phase program that teaches you how to lose big by strategically eating big when you are naturally hungriest—in the evening. This may sound too good to be true, but let me assure you it is no gimmick. It’s all about making strategic and smart food swaps, and you can still eat your favorite foods.”

Out of everything Joel said, this is what resonates with me the most:

“At my next medical checkup, my doctor was shocked at how good my blood work had gotten, so quickly. And let’s not forget the most important part: for the first time in months, I had the energy to keep up with my little girls.”

Having the energy to keep up with my children is certainly at the top of my list! I’m so excited to accept the challenge and dive in! Stay tuned- I’ll post an update next week.

In the meantime, check out this video on Joel’s top tips for success.
