Transforming our hearts: New Year Bible Studies

As you know, my 2024 word of the year is “transform.” While I can apply that word to transforming my body and transforming my time management, I do consider transforming my heart and my mind to be my top priority. I have been looking for a good Bible study this year to help me really dive into my Bible and be renewed.

I am looking for a good Bible study I can do with my husband or children, or both. I think studying our Bibles together as a group serves multiple purposes: it gets us together, and it also helps us show up and hold each other accountable.

I tried to share a good mixture of Bible studies: one for families, one for couples, one for moms and one for teens/tweens. If you are working on a Bible study together- or if you have worked on one in the past that you loved- please comment below and tell me all about it. I’d love to hear from you!

1. Mom Set Free by Jeannie Cunnion

Good news for moms who are tired of being good enough. How many of us are constantly struggling with trying to be a good mom, a good wife, a good housekeeper, a good cook, and so on and so forth. Finding the balance is hard- being perfect at all of those things is impossible. God knows how we feel about all of those things, and he knows how exhausted we get. Give this Bible study a try.

2. Love With All Your Heart – Teen Devotional: Navigating Family, Friendships, and Dating

This 30-day devotional is all about love- God’s love, loving your family, loving your friends, and dating. Sometimes I don’t recommend teen Bible studies for your younger teen (mine is 13) but this one I would comfortably recommend this to all teens. Those who aren’t old enough to date yet can file away the dating memos for a later date.

3. Seeking God Together

Sometimes it’s hard to find a good Bible study for married couples. This one is great- we have been married almost 15 years and we have learned a lot from this study. Learn to put God first, pray together, and seek His face.

4. In the Garden: a Bible study about prayer

This is the perfect Bible study for trying to teach your kids how to pray. It’s very easy to understand- simple enough for young kids, without being too babyish for your older kids. I learned a lot from this one myself.

What Bible studies are you using this season?
