I love the show Fixer Upper. I also love the super cute decor that Joanna uses to stage their homes. Have you seen the Magnolia Market website? There are so many things that I want, but I do not have a big enough bank account to buy them all.
This lovely sign is $70. I love it, but I cannot see paying that for this sign.
I did have a can of white paint, a board, and black paint.
I quickly painted my board white. I then created some letter stencils.
I traced the letters and then painted them in with black paint.
I then added hangers to the back.
I then hung the sign in my dining room. It’s not perfect but I love it! What do you all think?
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! This time of year is always a busy one for teachers, so I never seem to post as many blog posts as I’d like. Today, I’d like to share some super cute farmhouse projects with you all.
You can make this one with just a stencil, some scrap wood, some paint and some wood stain. You can even freehand it if you’re more artistically talented than I am. There are so many things I want to put on a sign like this one! I can’t wait to make a few more.
I made this box from some mis-measured wood pieces from another project, and some walnut wood stain. I have used this box for Christmas, for spring, for fall, and for winter. It’s so much fun to decorate with!
I don’t know about you all, but I’m crushing on farmhouse entry ways at the moment. I’m a sucker for natural light, board and batten trim, and somewhere pretty to drop my bags and kick off my shoes. This week, I found four lovely farmhouse entry ways that spoke to me.
I love this entry way for lots of reasons. I love the shaggy rug and the wooden bench. I love those big baskets for shoes and I love the little topiary in the olive pot. The blanket and pillow make the space look inviting too.
Our entry way has improved significantly over the years, but it is still pretty boring. Before he passed away, my dad graciously helped us build this built in coat rack into the wall behind the door. It added a space for us to hang our coats and bookbags, and we have used it so much. I subscribe to the belief that organization should be both functional and attractive. While our entry way is now functional for our family, it certainly isn’t pretty.
I’d like to change the following things about our entry. I’d like to paint the back of the door black to give it some personality.
