Sunday Smiles: Grandparents’ Day

Good Sunday, and Happy Grandparent’s Day!

We went to church this morning as a family of three, as Mr. Lumber had to work. It’s fall, and this time of year, he has lots of special events to cover. While we were there, he texted me to remind me that it is Grandparents’ Day. I had totally forgotten.

Me, circa 1988, with my paternal grandparents

What ensued next was a fury of card purchases, visits (his grandparents and our moms), and phone calls (my grandmothers, who live 3+ hours away). While things were a bit chaotic, I was grateful that we got to talk to everyone.

We are in our forties and are blessed to have all of our grandmothers still with us. Both of us have lost our grandfathers, though.

I hope everyone has a fantastic week!

I’m Angi. Let’s be friends!

Welcome to Lumber in my Minivan, a blog about adventures, (and sometimes MISadventures), in parenting, DIY, and home life. I’m a Christian, a wife, a mother of two daughters, a teacher, a southerner, an amateur farmer and woodworker, a coffee lover, and an animal lover. Life without music is pointless and outside is my favorite place to be. I’m so glad you stopped by- pour yourself a large cup of coffee, put your feet up, and stay awhile!

I’d love to connect with you!
