This morning, I opened the door to let my dogs out to do their business, and was immediately assaulted by a blast of air so cold it hurt my skin. I checked the thermometer. 12 degrees fahrenheit!! We live in North Carolina- 12 degrees fahrenheit does NOT happen often here. Needless to say, the dogs didn’t stay out very long either.

I always worry about my pets when the temperature drops, but I worry about children, too. I am a teacher in real life, so I always worry about kids waiting for buses in the cold. I also worry about my children- especially since one of them doesn’t like to wear long pants or long sleeves. I’m also very budget minded, so I like to find nice, functional winter wear that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg…especially if you have more than one child like I do.

1. Artix Girls Jackalope Insulated Winter Jacket, $50

This Artix girls winter jacket looks nice and has fantastic reviews. Some users have described it as well-made, warm, and attractive. I actually ordered them recently for my children. The jackets look just as nice as their much more expensive counterparts.

2. Smartwool Kids Ski Light Cushion Socks, $10

I myself own a few pairs of Smartwool socks- they keep you warm without making you sweat. Their products are well made and last forever. You can buy these for only $10 right here.

3. Carhartt Kids Marbled Knit Beanie Watch Hat, $12

This beanie is well-made, warm, and comes in a lot of different colors. And for only $12, you can buy more than one if you want. Get yours here.

4. Merrell Unisex Child Snow Crush 3.0 Weatherproof Boot, $58

These boots are the most expensive thing on my list, but they are so worth it. Many of the reviews talk about how warm and weather resistant they are, and how great they look. They’re also a great value for the money because they are well-made and will hold up well. They’re still less than $60 as well.

5. Arctix kids’ insulated snow bibs, $31

I chose these in a color to match the jacket I posted, but you can choose from 40 different colors. At only $30 a pair, these things are affordable, well-made, and will keep your kiddo warm and dry.

6. Tough Outdoors Kids Winter Gloves, $20

These winter gloves are warm, come in different colors and are only $20. Your kids will love them.

I hope you have enjoyed our Winter Wednesday Round-up. What affordable and wonderful winter products do you enjoy?
