Make something Monday: DIY Notebooks from Upcycled Cardboard

At our house, we have acquired a large stack of cardboard. We reuse our cardboard for many things: lining raised beds and flower beds, killing grass before tilling the garden, and for making these neat little notebooks.

Say what? Notebooks?

First, cut the cardboard to your desired size and cover them with the scrapbook paper of your choice using Mod Podge for adhesive.

Make some holes in the “back cover” where you’ll attach your paper. We then use these postbound scrapbook extenders to attach the notebook paper or sticky notes to the notebook. This also makes them refillable. The flat side should be on the back of the notebook.

And then you just attach your paper and screw the posts on.

We made this small notebook size:

A photo album size or sketchbook size with unlined paper:

And this small, sticky note sized one:

These things are fun and easy to make and can be used as gifts, or just for when you want something original and cute.

And best of all, you can make them entirely from things you already have on hand.

Happy creating!!

I’m Angi. Let’s be friends!

Welcome to Lumber in my Minivan, a blog about adventures, (and sometimes MISadventures), in parenting, DIY, and home life. I’m a Christian, a wife, a mother of two daughters, a teacher, a southerner, an amateur farmer and woodworker, a coffee lover, and an animal lover. Life without music is pointless and outside is my favorite place to be. I’m so glad you stopped by- pour yourself a large cup of coffee, put your feet up, and stay awhile!

I’d love to connect with you!
