For most of my life, I have looked forward to coloring eggs each year. I now have two girls who also love decorating eggs each year. The colorants have varied over the years, but we typically stick to the PAAS kits you get at the drug store. This year, I’d like to try some different ways to color eggs.

This year, since we have our own chickens and the eggs are green, AND eggs are crazy expensive, we chose to buy these:

I also bought this for the girls. I’m very excited about using it.

I will share more about this egg decorating kit in the near future. I cannot wait to show you all the cool eggs we make…but first, here are some other very pretty ways to decorate your easter eggs.

1. Polka dot eggs

Get a white crayon and make polka dots on the egg, and then dip the egg in food coloring. These are so cute and so simple.

2. Marbeled eggs

Get some paint, toothpicks and whipped cream, and color some marbled eggs. Aren’t they pretty?

3. Paper Napkin decoupaged eggs

Get a paintbrush, some mod podge and paper napkins of your choosing, and get to work. Aren’t these cute?

4. Pressed flower eggs

I have never thought about putting pressed flowers on eggs, but I love how pretty this is. There are so many different plants you could use- buttercups, chicory, clover…the list is endless.

What are your favorite egg coloring methods?
