With only six days left to the “big day,” Christmas preparations are in full swing here and have been for some time. At this point in time, we are just checking and double checking all the small, last minute details.

1. Last minute menu preparations
Maybe you’re like our family and you have lots of places to be. Maybe you’re hosting a Christmas meal at your home. Either way, make sure you have all of the ingredients you’ll need ahead of time. Last minute, stressed out store runs are no fun.

2. Revisit your holiday to-do list
Double check your to-do list and see if you’re forgetting anything. Is there anything that needs additional attention?

3. Pack what you can early
If you’re traveling over the next week, pack what you can ahead of time. Research shows when you wait til the last minute to complete tasks, you’re more likely to forget something. Packing at the last minute is a sure way to do that. If you pack what you can early, you won’t have to worry about it later.

4. Make sure your house is company ready
Keep your house spot cleaned and make sure you have some quick snack foods you can set out. Have some extra coffee, creamer and drinks.

5. Relax and take a break
Pour yourself a cup of coffee or tea and have a break. Sit down and rest. Holiday preparations can be stressful, so you need to take care of yourself too.
Have a Merry Christmas- the big day is almost here!
