Two Weeks of “Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion”

This post is brought to you by our sponsor, “Always Eat After 7 PM”. The opinions expressed below are my own.

Hi, all! Remember this post, where I talked about wanting to have more energy, and lose weight since the gyms are still closed? After trying fad diet after fad diet, believing many diet misconceptions, and always gaining my weight back, I decided to try Joel Marion’s Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion  to see if I could lose weight and gain energy.

I have been counting macronutrients and calories as well as weight training and running, which I have had a lot of success with. I decided I’d incorporate some of Joel Marion’s principles in conjunction with counting macronutrients and it has proven to be the best fit for me.

Prior to beginning Always Eat After Seven, I frequently ate light meals for dinner, and I ate them no later than 6:30 P.M. This often meant I would wake up starving, or I’d cave and snack on something unhealthy at night time. I decided to try eating a heavier, higher carb meal (but making sure to save my carbs so I did not exceed my daily carb allotment). Within two weeks I lost the remaining three pounds and hit my second short term goal.

In Always Eat After Seven P.M., Joel Marion addresses the misconception that eating heavier meals later in the evening is detrimental to weight loss.

“A research paper published in Sports Medicine in 2014 showed that people who eat the majority of their carbs at dinner actually sleep better,” he said. “Carb-induced, quality sleep decreases cortisol (a fat-storing hormone) and ramps up the production of your sleep hormones, serotonin and melatonin. Restorative sleep increases fat-burning hormones—the main one being growth hormone—overnight.”

There are so many things I love about the book- the easy-to-follow meal plans make meal planning and grocery shopping easy. The recipes are easy to make and are delicious, without a lot of special ingredients. Have you ever had trouble following a diet because you couldn’t find the recipe ingredients anywhere in the stores? You won’t have that problem with Always Eat After 7 P.M.

My children are picky and often won’t try new things, but this cheesy ground beef skillet was a crowd pleaser. It was easy to make and everyone in our family loved it. Most of the recipes in the book require minimal prep so they are perfect for busy families like ours. You can eat a quick and delicious meal that doesn’t come from a drive thru.
