Favorite Spring Crafts: DIY Faux Birds’ Nests

Spring is fast approaching and each day, our trees bloom a little more. I’m also noticing our birds becoming more active. I love watching the birds each spring, and I even love incorporating birds into my decor.

As much as we love our little fine feathered friends, decorating with a real bird’s nest would be a bad-and unsanitary- idea. You can DIY a super cute faux birds nest that looks like the real deal.

First, get some grapevine twig moss or dried Spanish moss.

Then, take some aluminum foil and shape it into a little bowl. Now, make a little Spanish moss bowl and glue it to the aluminum foil bowl. I use hot glue but craft glue will work too.

Then, pop some faux eggs into your cute little nest. I found these at Walmart.

And best of all? These things cost less than $5 to make. What cute spring craft have you made recently?

I’m Angi. Let’s be friends!

Welcome to Lumber in my Minivan, a blog about adventures, (and sometimes MISadventures), in parenting, DIY, and home life. I’m a Christian, a wife, a mother of two daughters, a teacher, a southerner, an amateur farmer and woodworker, a coffee lover, and an animal lover. Life without music is pointless and outside is my favorite place to be. I’m so glad you stopped by- pour yourself a large cup of coffee, put your feet up, and stay awhile!

I’d love to connect with you!
