As you know, Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching. While the world has many ideas and thoughts about love, I thought I’d share some of my favorite Bible verses about love.
Perhaps my most favorite verse is John 3:16, but this verse is a common one as well. 1 John 4:19 has been used for engagement photos, weddings, and more.
Where is a greater picture of love than Christ’s love for us? Basically, what this verse means is we can love others because God loves us. He is the one who gives us that ability. The following verses talk about how we are not to hate anyone, and how a person cannot say he loves God but hate his brother.
I feel this verse is never more relevant than today, when violence and tensions are running at an all time high. Even though evil is rampant and hate is spewed forth on a daily basis, we must not be part of t. God called us to love and to be set apart.
I am challenging myself to recite this verse daily, so it will remind me to show others that love. We love because he first loved us. Shouldn’t we strive to radiate that love to others?
Have a wonderful week.
