I have always been fitness and diet conscious, but now that the gym is closed for COVID-19, my good habits have suffered! Many of us have grown up believing that if you want to manage your weight, eating after 7 P.M. if off the table. In the beginning of the book, Joel Marion addresses this thought. He then shares how his own experiences with weight gain and loss research from various studies helped him to form the theory that eating after 7 doesn’t have negative effects on your weight, but actually positive effects.   After his research, Joel put his theory to the test and the results were awesome! In his first two weeks, he lost 12 pounds, and after sixteen weeks, he had lost 46 pounds. He also noticed an increased energy level and flatter abs. Don’t these results sound like results we would want to achieve?

We’ve been traditionally taught to avoid carbs, have an early dinner, and never eat before bed. But the fact is, the latest scientific research shows us this earlier model is not the most ideal. In the book, Joel writes,  “Always Eat After 7 pm is a three-phase program that teaches you how to lose big by strategically eating big when you are naturally hungriest—in the evening. This may sound too good to be true, but let me assure you it is no gimmick. It’s all about making strategic and smart food swaps, and you can still eat your favorite foods.”

Out of everything Joel said, this is what resonates with me the most:

“At my next medical checkup, my doctor was shocked at how good my blood work had gotten, so quickly. And let’s not forget the most important part: for the first time in months, I had the energy to keep up with my little girls.”
