I absolutely love thrift stores. While some people see them as a junk store filled with other people’s useless castoffs, I see it as a treasure hunt. One man’s trash really is another person’s treasure.
I love to shop resale stores and thrift stores to find gently used clothes for my family, but I also love finding unique treasures and projects. Recently, I’ve been on an ironstone kick. I love how it looks but I don’t love the price. You can fake it fairly easily.
I spotted this Christmas planter not long after I arrived at the store. I loved the size and shape of it.
I used two coats of antique white spray paint to make it look like ironstone and I loved how it turned out.
I also sprayed this pitcher to make it look like ironstone too.
If you’ve been a reader here for very long, you know a few things about me:
1. I love signs with quotes and verses
2. I have champagne taste on a tap water budget
3. I am addicted to the dollar stores.
Have you been to Dollar General lately? If you read my post about their fall decor, then you probably have already checked out their Christmas decor. If you haven’t, you should. It’s cute and cheap, which is how I like my decor.
These tree skirts are adorable and would look great with any farmhouse themed tree. You could easily remove the red snowflake from the first one if you wanted. And who doesn’t love red ticking stripe? Such a classic look.
This burlap stocking is so cute!
I love a cute Santa ornament and this fellow is rather unique with his dark outfit. There were several Santa’s.
These lanterns are beautiful and no one will ever know they are from a dollar store.
I bet you knew I’d put a red truck in here somewhere! Check out this advent calendar.
You know I love wood signs- here are three pretty ones.
And these big, old bells would be amazing on a wreath.
I hope you enjoyed these Christmas dollar store finds as much as I did! Have a wonderful Monday!
This weekend, the girls and I visited a new Dollar Tree location with my aunt and grandma. Like most stores right now, they have a mixture of Halloween, fall and Christmas decor…and there are a lot of pretty items to choose from. I managed to buy a few things and I’ve already earmarked a few nice items for Christmas.
Take a look at the pretties I found (and comment below if you happen to make a Dollar Tree visit of your own to share your finds.”
1. Fall themed drinking glass
When I was in college, all of my plates, cups, and bowls came from the Dollar Tree! They sell sturdy, attractive glassware and no one will know where you bought it.
I think these drinking glasses would look great on your fall table for their intended purpose, but I think they’d be cute fall tea light holders, too.
2. Paper party ware
Dollar Tree is a great place to purchase party ware. These thanksgiving themed plates and napkins are just as cute as the $5 you can buy elsewhere.
3. Glass candle holders
These glass candle holders are simple, cute and perfect for your fall table. I love the one on the right!!
4. Primitive poke berries
I’ve bought these poke berry garlands at craft stores for $6-$8 dollars before! These are cute and offered in both white and red. I already have a project in mind for them.
5. Burlap pumpkins and glass pumpkins
I have about a million of these things- they’re so cute and you can use them so many different ways to decorate.
6. Fall themed platters
I have a lot of fall themed plates because as a southern woman, we tend to have a lot of church get togethers. These seasonal plates are nice for taking dessert items to church dinners.
7. Kitchen textiles
These fall themed towels are cute!
I hope you have enjoyed our fall decor picks from Dollar Tree. What cute budget friendly decor have you stumbled upon lately?
Have you all been to your local Dollar General lately? If you haven’t, you might want to pop in. If you’re a fan of the Pioneer Woman line at Walmart, you will love their spring stock. They have some of the cutest kitchen items I’ve seen in a long time…and it’s not expensive at all!
And those are just the things I bought. I wanted waaaaay more! I thought I’d share the cuteness that I loved, but left behind (and might still go back and get).
My kids are not allowed to use glass drinking glasses for obvious reasons. They sometimes get offended that they can’t have a pretty glass like the adults. With these, they could feel like they have a fancy glass…and at $1.50 a pop, if they drop it and break it, it’s no big deal.
Any hobnail fans in the house? I love that these glasses are hobnail and I love the color.
If you like glass bottles, grab a few of these to stash on top of your cabinets. Or you could even fill one with mini Christmas lights.
These small canister jars would be great to buy and fill with candy for a small gift, or even to store small goods in your own kitchen.
This flowered butter dish is a cutie. I have a cow creamer that I’d like to put this beside.
You all know how much I love lettered signs! Here’s a pretty one for $10!
This tag frame could look cute in any room.
This bucket reminds me of enamelware.
Which item was your favorite? My favorite would definitely have to be the drinking glasses. Comment down below and tell me which item you liked best!
