Fabulous Fall Finds at Dollar General

Fabulous Fall Finds at Dollar General

I have been itching to decorate for fall lately, and now that it’s finally September, I just might. Have you all been to Dollar General recently? They have so many beautiful fall things and for such awesome prices! There were many things I wanted to buy and I still may go back and buy them later.

This comfy fall throw is soft and I love the colors. This muted gray would be beautiful thrown over my couch.

This pretty tea towel would look great in a kitchen or a bathroom.

These cute little fall bowls are reminiscent of Rae Dunn and I am seriously considering going back and buying about six of them.

I want this cute little sign so bad. My aunt was with me at the DG and she talked about buying this and putting it in the center of a deco mesh wreath, which would be really pretty.

These pretty little metal baskets would be great in a fall vignette.

These small canvas fall signs are available in several different designs and are another thing I’m debating on going back to buy.

I’ve earmarked this cute little clock for a project I’m about to do. Isn’t it cute?

These cute little galvanized pails could be used for so many things.

I want some of these little candle lanterns.

This photo frame is so pretty. I’ve almost bought it many a time.

There were also some really cute candle holders and some fall vase fillers that I liked and didn’t get pictures of.

Which of these fall finds are you crushing on?

Tune in next week for some sweet fall wreaths!

Make it Monday: an easy summer wreath

Make it Monday: an easy summer wreath

I found these beautiful hydrangea blooms at Hobby Lobby. I wasn’t going to buy them, but they were so pretty I had to have them.

Hobby Lobby

I knew I needed a new wreath for my back door, so I decided to buy an oval grapevine wreath.

I also grabbed some ribbon from my craft cabinet and got to work. I simply cut the stems from the flowers, put the flowers into the wreath and arranged them as I liked. I then added a little hot glue to the backs of the blooms and tied a bow from my ribbon. I attached this to the top.

I was satisfied with the wreath when I finished it. And if you’re wondering how realistic the flowers are?

This sweet butterfly was surprised, too!

This wreath was easy and fun to make. Have you made any wreaths lately?

Four farmhouse entry ways: a Pinterest roundup

I don’t know about you all, but I’m crushing on farmhouse entry ways at the moment. I’m a sucker for natural light, board and batten trim, and somewhere pretty to drop my bags and kick off my shoes. This week, I found four lovely farmhouse entry ways that spoke to me.

Bless’er House

I love this entry way for lots of reasons. I love the shaggy rug and the wooden bench. I love those big baskets for shoes and I love the little topiary in the olive pot. The blanket and pillow make the space look inviting too.

Boxwood, a sweet little shelf and a beautiful little bench. This entry way is perfect if you only have a small space or a nook. I love those green plants and how much they add to the space.

Love Grows Wild

Here’s another small spaces entry way. I like that rope basket and the pillows, and the antique mirror. So much simplicity and so much pretty.

Homes BNC

Here’s another simple farmhouse entry way, with a simple white bench, a shelf and some pretty white pumpkins!

And I know I said four farmhouse entry ways, but here is a bonus fifth room:

Southern Revivals

Everything about this picture makes me happy.

I hope you have enjoyed this Pinterest roundup. Stay tuned, next week I will be sharing some more farmhouse goodness.

How to DIY Christmas ornaments from pinecones!

How to DIY Christmas ornaments from pinecones! Sometimes you just need a cute, easy craft that doesn’t cost you a dime. That’s exactly what I needed this week, and it turned out super cute. I picked up these pinecones from our neighbor’s yard but I already had the glue gun, ribbon and twine in my craft cabinet. I cut the ribbon at the length I wanted and tied them into simple little bows. I then tied the twine around the knot on the bows and hot glued the bow knots to the base of the pine cones. I told you this was easy!! And I made six of them in different sizes. And then I hung them on our tree. Next year, I may create a woodland tree with these pine cones and wood slice ornaments. Arent they pretty? What awesome and free crafts have you done lately?

Dollar Store Crafts: Place Mat Pillows

Dollar Store Crafts: Place Mat Pillows

I have wanted some pretty seasonal pillows, but I don’t always love the price. I was at Dollar Tree when I spotted these pretty placemats.

They were thin, as far as placemats go, but they were really pretty. Since they were at the Dollar Tree, I went ahead and bought four of them, with the intent of making two pillows from them.

I then took them home and pinned them together where I wanted to sew them. I then turned them inside out and sewed the edges together.

And after I sewed the edges, I simply turned them right-side out and stuffed them with quilt batting.

I then sewed the open end together.

I absolutely love how these turned out! I am now looking for some napkins or tea towels that coordinate with these placemats so I can make some pillows from them!
