A new year, new goals, and new reflections

Things have been so bizarrely busy and crazy lately, and this blog has been crazy neglected. I want to share a life update and also to set some goals for the new year.

2025 in review

If you follow me on social  media, you may have seen my TikTok and Instagram post about the year in review. We had so many really neat things happen- we spent some time with family, our children danced in Orlando and we went to Sea World. Our youngest turned 10 and our oldest started high school. She started and completed driver’s ed. Our little one went to fourth grade. Our oldest began her tenth year of dance and our youngest began her sixth. I celebrated my fortieth birthday by attending a Stevie Nicks concert and loving every minute of it. We went on vacation with my brother-in-law and his family and had a blast.

2026: word of the year

I thought long and hard about what word I wanted to embody this year. After thinking about it for awhile, and choosing my verse of the year, I finally chose the word “intentional.” I need to be more intentional- sometimes, I feel like I’m just going through the motions, or acting out of impulse. This year, I’d like to be more intentional in what I do, what I say, and in the decisions I make.

Verse of the year

I searched for a verse that went along with being intentional and this is what I found:

Proverbs 16:3: Commit to the Lord whatever you do and your plans will succeed.

My goals this year are to be more intentional but to be successful as well. I want to make memories with my family and to finally get our farm based business off the ground. I want to exercise more and lose a bit more weight. I want to be more intentional in my relationship with the Lord.

What are your goals for the new year?

I’m Angi. Let’s be friends!

Welcome to Lumber in my Minivan, a blog about adventures, (and sometimes MISadventures), in parenting, DIY, and home life. I’m a Christian, a wife, a mother of two daughters, a teacher, a southerner, an amateur farmer and woodworker, a coffee lover, and an animal lover. Life without music is pointless and outside is my favorite place to be. I’m so glad you stopped by- pour yourself a large cup of coffee, put your feet up, and stay awhile!

I’d love to connect with you!
