Housekeeping Hacks: Speed Clean Your Home

Have you ever had short notice that company is coming, when your house is less than “company ready?”

Most of us have been there. There’s no way to make your house absolutely perfect on short notice, but you can make it look reasonably clean and fresh. These sneaky hacks can make your home look and feel cleaner in a heartbeat.

Declutter

Grab a basket and walk through your home, and put anything that is out of place into the basket. Stash the basket behind closed doors.

A pleasant smell

The easiest way to make your home feel cleaner is to make sure it smells good. Simmering a pot of oranges, cinnamon, cloves and cranberries will make your home smell like the holidays.

Wipe down surfaces and counters

Wipe down all counters and surfaces in the public areas of your home. This will make everything seem clean and fresh.

Dry mop floors and vacuum rugs

Vacuum your rugs and use a dry mop with a static duster pad to clean your floors- only worry about the public areas about your home.

Now, brew a pot of coffee and have a seat until your company arrives.

Life without music is pointless and outside is my favorite place to be. I’m so glad you stopped by- pour yourself a large cup of coffee, put your feet up, and stay awhile!
