This post is going to be a bit deceptive- while I am writing about hiking, I’m also writing about what you can do at the park in general.
Off the beaten path near Burlington, North Carolina lies the neatest little park. The park is 500 acres and is located on Rock Creek. There are six miles of walking trails, as well as six miles of equestrian trails; a 19th century farmstead; two disc golf courses; a waterfall; picnicking shelters; and fishing. There is so much to do and see.
Garrett Family Farmstead

You can enjoy a self-guided tour of the Garrett Family’s homestead, which features a QR code guided tour- there are videos to explain when each building on the farm was constructed, and how it was used. You can also visit the sheep, goats, and the mules (just don’t try to pet or feed them).

Hiking trails

Are you an AllTrails user? There are three walking/hiking trails listed on the Cedarock Park page– two of the trails, Rock Creek Trail and Spoon Branch Trail, are classified as “easy.” Hikers who want something a bit more challenging should use the Rock Creek, Bridle, and Spoon Branch Loop- a 4.3 mile hike that is listed as “moderate.”
Rock Creek Trail and the loop will take you past the former grist mill dam, which is now a beautiful little waterfall.
Fishing

The main pond at Cedarock is stocked each year with trout, bream, and bass. Anyone 16 or older must have a fishing license, and you can purchase a day pass for only $5. This is a great place to fish with kids.
Have you been to Cedarock Park? What are your favorite activities here?
