Recently, our garage has been a HOT MESS. It started when I changed schools at the end of last year, and my classroom of 16 years was stacked up in boxes in my garage.

Even after the boxes were at my new school, a messy garage remained. We couldn’t even park our cars in there.
Our garage is really home to too much stuff, but until we get our garage attic finished, we will have to find a way to make it all work.
I started by hanging some of our old kitchen cabinets in one area of the garage- they take up a good bit of space, but they are a great place for storing small tools and items.

We will need a larger tool rack, but for now, we will make this work.
I also purchased some plastic shelves from Lowe’s for putting away tools and boxes.

At some point, we will finish our garage attic and some of these items will be relocated to our storage shed. For now, things are a bit more cluttered than I like, but still much better than it was.
My gym area takes up the front half of the garage.

Eventually, I want to get more efficient weight storage and put down some gym flooring.
This area is still under construction. We need to install the grill someplace and put together the extra shelf.

Even though this is only phase one of our garage re-do, I am happy with how it turned out. We still have all of these things left to do:
- Finish garage walls and insulate them
- New garage door
- More lighting
- Garage flooring and gym flooring
- Finish and floor garage attic
- Build stairs to the attic
Best of all, we can now fit TWO vehicles in our garage!
