Saturday snuggles with Tommie Gray, aka Gray-Gray

One Saturday a month, we have what’s known as a “farm work day.” Yesterday, we trimmed the bushes in our front and back yards…

…and we mowed down our summer garden and began prepping for fall.

After I get the compost spread and the rest of the weed barrier installed, we will plant our cucumbers, lettuce, cabbage, and radishes.

Shortly after the work was completed, some visitors showed up.

We still have some weed trimming to do, some flower beds to weed, some bulbs to plant, and some mulch to order, but I’m pleased with our progress.

What projects are you completing this fall?

Welcome to Lumber in my Minivan, a blog about adventures, (and sometimes MISadventures), in parenting, DIY, and home life. I’m a Christian, a wife, a mother of two daughters, a teacher, a southerner, an amateur farmer and woodworker, a coffee lover, and an animal lover. I’d love to connect with you!
