This year, I struggled to think of a great word of the year. We have been working hard in 2023 to make some changes, and while we have done well, our progress still leaves a lot to be desired.
We decided a positive way to focus on our changes (meaning the ones we successfully made and the ones we failed) was to continue our process. We chose the word “transform.”

There are so many areas in life where I want to make a thorough and dramatic change, and if I’m honest, my appearance is one of them. I have gained about 30 pounds in the past three years and it’s causing all sorts of health issues. I want my figure and my health back.
I’m also working on living with less: less clutter, fewer possessions, and fewer things we don’t need. I’m working toward less screen time, being more present and making more memories with my family.
I’m working on transforming other areas too. Romans 12:2 says, “do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”

So I’m also focusing on transforming my spiritual life by renewing my mind. I’m spending time in God’s word and seeking him first.
The Bible has quite a lot to say about transforming.

I’m looking forward to a year of transformation. I know 2024 is going to hold a lot of positive changes and growth for all of us.
May everyone be blessed with good health and positive change in 2024.
