Lumber in my Minivan: What we’ve been up to!

We meant to post some really neat things this week- we really did. But life has been crazy lately with work, school and dance, and we also were hit with a stomach virus.

Everything seems to be back to normal and we have some really neat things to share with you this week. Just as things are starting to return to normal in our house, we have decided to update you on some recent happenings in our humble abode.

We are in the midst of competition season and the girls are on their way to their first dance competition of the year!
We recently bought four little bantam chicks and the girls are enjoying raising them.

Our littlest lumber is headed to kindergarten this fall! She recently went to her kindergarten registration and her screening.

So many plants are currently coming up in our greenhouse and we are so excited!

Join us later this week for some chicken projects and some garden goodness! Have a wonderful week!

Life as a Lumber: What We’ve Been Up To!

This week, my husband asked for a sweet treat. I’ve been trying to cook and eat at home more. I tried making a pineapple cobbler for the first time. It doesn’t look very pretty but it tasted good.
We also made some tasty “from scratch” waffles on Sunday morning and they were really good. We will share the recipe soon! It’s super easy, cheap and super good…my three recipe requirements.
On my first school day of the new year, I managed to have a little bird fly into my classroom and entertain us for most of my first class. My principal managed to shoo him out.
School and dance started back and these little kiddos are keeping me busy.
This boy has been getting into all sorts of

Happy New Year! Catch us next week for these fun posts:

1. Green and clean in the pandemic (and a giveaway)

2. A new playground for the little lumbers

3. A fun Friday roundup

Life as a Lumber: What we’ve been up to

The girls performed with their dance studio for Christmas and both did wonderfully. They also got a Santa photo! We usually visit Santa and get a picture each year and due to covid, I wasn’t sure we would get to this year.

We attempted to “tie dye” some government issue masks our schools gave us using sharpies and rubbing alcohol. They didn’t turn out too bad.

Our kitchen is finally finished…completely. It is exactly what we wanted and we could not be happier.

I went back to work. My students came back this week. Pray for all of us, as we are a bit scared of getting sick.
I finally hit the 25 pound mark! I’ve lost 25 pounds altogether since last year.
And we made this delicious breakfast pizza with crescent rolls, mozzarella cheese and sausage. Yum!

We hope you had a wonderful week! Join us tomorrow for the second Sunday of advent.

Life as a Lumber: Our Week in Photos

Happy Saturday! This has been a long week and not an amazing one. We are glad to see it end. That being said, some good things did happen this week.

My friend and her mom make the most amazing foods every Friday and sell them. We had a delicious torta yesterday.
Daisy wanted E to get off her computer and pay her some attention…so she laid on her computer!
I love Just Crack an Egg but, in an effort to save money, I’ve started to make my own. These are made from eggs, cheddar cheese and a Pampered Chef ceramic egg cooker.
We also made a delicious chicken pie.
We went to Tanglewood Festival of Lights near Winston-Salem with our family.
We decorated our home for Christmas. Yes, it’s early but it brings us a lot of joy.
Our kids enjoyed some sweet hot chocolate.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!! We will see you again Monday!

Life with the Lumbers: what we’ve been up to

It’s been a minute since we last posted on a regular schedule. We have had quite a year dealing with Covid ramifications so we took a break from regular posting to lighten the load a bit.

And that break was just what we needed. We were able to take blogging off the plate and spend some much needed energy on one another.

Oldest daughter is busy with school but is having a good year, despite the strangeness of starting the school year online.
She’s growing up so fast and she is beautiful.
Little daughter is adorable and keeps us on our toes.
She is full of sweetness and sass.

We also have recently decorated for fall.

My kiddos helped me and we had a blast.

The Lumber fam kitties are doing well, too.

Gray says this the UPS man sure was nice to give him this box to sit on.
Daisy thinks her daddy’s uniform shirt is a perfect blanket .

Covid still has our lives basically shut down. No dance, no school and no church. So in the meantime, we try to fill our time having fun together, learning together and doing things around the house.

Recently we completed two small outdoor projects, which we will share with you soon.

But until then, have a blessed weekend! See you soon.
