DIY Lace Garland

My oldest daughter is very into shabby chic/boho decor. I had seen these lace and burlap garlands on Pinterest and decided I wanted to make one too.

I started by cutting a length of twine- I chose to make it as wide as my kitchen island.

I then tied a piece of ribbon in the absolute center of the twine.

I then alternated tying the polka dot burlap, lace ribbon, and wide lace trim to the twine.

I kept adding burlap ribbon and lace until I filled up the twine. TIP: Leave the knots loose so you can slide them along the twine and move them if you want.

I love how this turned out so much. For now, I hung it in our dining room. Looks like our kitty approves, too.

I almost dont want to give it to my daughter! I could see this being pretty on a mantle, above a window as a type of shabby chic valance, or hanging over a door way.

What pretty things are you making this week?
