Greenhouse tour

Today, I’d like to talk to you about our greenhouse. The greenhouse is just a simple 12x7x7 pop up polytunnel. It’s very similar to this one.

During the shut downs, I got a bit bored and decided to learn how to greenhouse garden. I start my seeds in here every year before transplanting them into the garden.

Before I bought this greenhouse, I used to start my seeds on the back porch. This made our porch cluttered and useless, and I had no way of protecting my plants from the elements.

So I purchased this greenhouse and several plastic shelves.

I also used rubber stable mats from Tractor Supply to form the floor.

I also purchased a Palma BioGreen heater and fan combo with a thermostat, and a heavy duty outdoor extension cord to power it. This thing was a game changer.

And then I purchased wholesale plant pots. Currently, I am growing flowers, such as marigolds, pansies, petunias, and coleus.

I’m also growing tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, squash and zucchini.

And some herbs: basil, mint, oregano and cilantro.

At the back of the greenhouse, I have an area for extra plant pot storage, and my potting bench.

If you’re interested in learning to grow in a greenhouse, this is a great way to get started. I do eventually plan to upgrade, but this has met my needs this far. You can save a lot of money growing your own food by only spending a little on this greenhouse.

What are you waiting for? Give it a try.
